Lisa Korhnak played a critical role in making Arcola Church one of the fastest-growing Methodist churches in Virginia. Using her background in strategic integrated marketing she designed three websites for the church, led and assisted in various capital campaigns and silent auctions that raised over $1 million dollars (in 2015 a ‘mini-campaign’ raised $136k, which was 36% over the goal, and in 2016 another ‘mini-campaign’ with a goal of raising $75k, raised over $90k). She has produced and directed videos, directed graphic design efforts, written articles, and other copy to increase awareness through SEO, social media, media buys, and grassroots marketing campaigns. Not only did Lisa fulfill the marketing communications director role, but she also became a lay counselor, congregational care leader, and master networker who used her skills to connect with neighbors, area schools, hospitals, counseling centers, and other nonprofits. As such, she developed a team of 15 care ministries (with over 100 dedicated volunteers) that provide support and outreach to both the community and the congregation. She served on the council and made ‘big picture ‘decisions and, to date, continues to work with the church in fulfilling its mission of outreach, love, and transforming the world for the better.
Ami Low has also been instrumental in the growth of the church by lending her expert, award-winning design ideas to all the ministries, events, and hugely-successful capital campaigns. Her keen eye and creative ideas encourage and give hope to others.
